I'm still here.
The Spacewalker hasn't flown yet, I got side tracked on a bipe and getting my G-BRIT Ryobi powered plane sorted out.
I plan on powering the FA-61 with a Ryobi, so I was upset when it started acting up. It turns out that the pickup for the ignition at the flywheel had loosened and had an air gap of about .060 rather than the proper .007. Now it's sorted out and flew very well today.
The bipe is a can of worms, I made mistake in buying it, very oil soaked.
I'm not going to say anything about the helicopter I just got, or the two Piccos with pipes, I really have gotten side tracked.
I made bracing for the pylon so that it can't fold back on itself. I brazed in a piece of steel 1/8" wire from the front to the back leg of the pylon on each side, it's not triagledlated, but it's so strong I have no fear of it folding back now.
I've decided to replace the 77 oz servo for the rotor tilt with a 131 oz HiTec 700 BB that I picked up, which is how I got side tracked while I was waiting for it to arrive. I'm also going to shield this servo in aluminum duct tape so it won't bother the Co-Pilot.
I've misplaced my digital camera so no new pictures for now, but I'll make progress tomorrow on finishing the rotors.

Hi Rich,
Good, sounds like you are heading down the right track. I think you said that you were building a set of SG6042 blades. I have had real good luck with the last set that Bill made for me. I am amazed of their lifting ability. Just don't put a twist in them near the root as for some reason they don't perform well. We still need to sort that out. Also, don't bother putting aluminum duct tape around the servo as it doesn't do much for shielding. However, if you can find some copper foil, that will help.

Why would copper shield, and aluminum not? I've got lots of copper foil, but it's in VA on my boat. I'd rather not keep putting the Spacewalker off, getting side tracked is EXPENSIVE!

Aluminum is a good electrical conductor, but not as good a copper, however, for some reason it doesn't work well for shielding. Probably the same reason that lead shields the best but I wouldn't recommend putting much of that on your gyro.
Again, before you fly, with everything powered up, tilt the gyro side to side and watch the servo till the head. If it appears to be smooth and no jitter, it should be OK. Also, tilt the head side to side from your transmitter and look for anything unusual. If it appears smooth, I wouldn't be concerned.
