Default Fun at the Spring Hill Autogyro Meet !!!

Hi Gang !!! I had a great time meeting my fellow gyronauts and flying my latest prototype gyroplane. You sure are a cool bunch of guys and I hope to be out there tomorrow for some more gyro action !!! It's been 6 years since I have flown R/C and though at first I was a little nervous, a couple of flights under my belt soon cured that. It felt great to see my creation cruising the skies once again. Keep up the good work and I hope to see you again soon !!! Charlie Anderson

AUTOGYOS OVER PRING HILL 2004
Preliminary report

To say the meet was a success would understate it!
It would be hard not to appreciate 2 days of just ideal weather plus
fine cooperative operation of the meet by the Hernando Aero Modelers.
And a fine flying site in a wide open area with no obstructions!
Great stuff?
About 40 odd Gyros of all descriptions filled the sky continuously to
the amazment of the uninitiated onlookers. Reasoning? Hey these
whirly birds are for real!
One could say the weather was not perfect, there was very little wind!
Gyros like some breeze which aids rotor spin up for take off, this being
lacking there were some take off aborts which never are welcome!
There were some interesting craft and happenings which will be detailed
another time.
Should be said the proposed Autogyro competition schedule (pattern?)
was flown and proved to be viable, hopefully it will be evaluated further
at coming Gyro events.
Closeing thoughts by attendees? Will be hard to wait for Autogyros over
Spring Hill 2005. Same time, same place, same fine people!

I have uploaded a picture of the Springhill 2004 pilots. You can view it at the following address:

http://www.auav.net/autogyro/springhill2004.html

This picture is not great but I should have some better pictures later and will post them when I get them.

Again the Hernando Aero Modelers did a great job and it was certainly appreciated by all. Especially thanks to the guys attending the gate as they were so far away they couldn't even see the great crashes! and we did have a few. Didn't we Jim? I think we need some clarification as to who should get the award for the best crash, the pilot or the owner of the gyro! However, I think this year the award went to both.

I want to thank all the folks interested in my molded gyro blades. Please e-mail and provide me with the approximate size that you are interested in and that will help me to know how much interest is really out there and then I can decide the best way to produce them at a reasonable cost. You can reach me at:

Steve Tillson,
Would hope you have observed these brief Spring Hill reports.
To say your presance was sorely missed would be an understatement!
A few of your designs were represented, especially 3 Kelletts.
You undoubtedly could have the Kelletts performing flawlessly even
though thwie owners could not.
Steve you are a positive presance in the Autogyro world and your
attendance is always favorable.
Perhaps, see you next time?

Your fans!
