ELECTRIC GYRO SHTICK NEARLY FINISHED
I am just about finished modifying my "wet" Gyro Shtick to electric power. I am using a Cermark 2814-1030 outrunner motor bolted the the firewall. A 3 cell 1300mah li-poly battery will supply the needed energy. A 10 x 4.7 APC slow flier prop provides the thrust. I hope to fly it this weekend. I will post pictures if anyone is interested.

HERES A BELATED IN FLIGHT PHOTO OF THE COMPLETED GYRO SHTICK-E. IT MADE THE COVER OF THE APRIL 2006 ISSUE OF MODEL AVIATION, JUST LOOK BEHIND THE YELLOW FLYING PANCAKE! HAVE FLOWN IT AT LEAST 25 TIMES, WITH NO DAMAGE. NO MORE "WILL THE ENGINE IDLE" WORRIES, JUST SMOOTH STEADY POWER!

RE: ELECTRIC GYRO SHTICK NEARLY FINISHED
Hey Guys! A question. Randy said he used a Cermark 2813-1030 Emotor on his Gyro stick. I have the plans here (somewhere) and seeing the picture got me fired up about building it, again. A couple of unscheduled hospital visits set a lot of ideas back a bit. When I got the plans I thought then to use an electric motor on it, if I ever got started on it. My problem now is (besides finding the plans) is the motor. I'm not familiar with the Cermark, and that's my question. Who sells it? I've looked all over and found no clues. What would be a viable substitute in another brand motor? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Oh yeah Randy, your version really looks great in that photo!

Thanks Grampaw!
After all those years of dead stick landings caused by engines that just didn't want to idle well, electric is a real pleasure! I work for Cermark, and use their motors. They are good quality and fairly priced. If you don't find what you need on the website, call me next week and I can help you.
