Default battery identification

On a lipo battery what does the C' numer represent. I see 11.1v batteries at different c values. Can a 20 or 30 c battery be used in a plane that came equiped with a 15 c battery?

It represents whatever the text along with it says it represents. "c" means capacity and the number along with it is a multiplier. When multiplied together they indicate the current that is specc'ed for discharge. In your example it is probably constant current discharge.

Yes, since it is a "max" value.

lets say you have an 11.1v 2200mah battery. 1c would be 2.2amps. So if you have a battery that is rated at 15c constant discharge then it is capable of 33amps of constant discharge. The higher the c rating the more power the pack can give.
