Do you guys think this AAA pack will be enough juice for 4 standard servos and 1 mini? ive used these cells up to 8 amps with no problems other than a huge voltage drop, and i dont see why they wouldnt work running the 1-2 amps my setup would pull. yes i do have a nimh charger/cycler. i would go the lipoly route, but not sure if i want a voltage regulator in the circuit

I use 4C 720mAh NiMH packs with my fun fly planes (5 full sized servos) with good results. Remember that unless you absolutely need the extra voltage for speed or torque, 4C packs will generally drain slower than the equivalent 5C packs.

Thanks for the replies. I want the extra voltage because i cant afford $100+ digital servos for the torque and speed, so 3004's and 9202's will do the trick on 6 volts. I take a Triton charger to the field with me as i mainly fly electric, so topping off a pack every few flights wont be a big deal. i can also use the triton as a loaded ESV by discharging at different rates and noting the voltage, as well as knocking off the topcharge so i dont get the jitters using 6 volts.

.46 size UCD3D that i tore the covering off of and lightened/reinforced. i want to go coreless on the tail because i plan on 60+ degree elevator throw, and need the centering a digital/coreless servo offers. $54 bucks each for 9202's isnt too bad either, and i wont try a hitec digital after all i have read about them, and how many my LHS has seen come back. i rarely hear about a bad futaba servo, and have never had one go south. Also the 9202 is rated at 90 oz in at 4.8 and 109 at 6v. there are alot of lower priced high torque 3 pole servos, but power is nothing without control.

What kind of engine are you using? I know a guy that put an OS 50 SX in his and it was just enough horsepower to hover. He had to fall out instead of powering out so he culdn't do anything real low...

.70 surpass I, had it laying on the shelf, spins a 14x6 at 10k, i expect to be at least 1/4 lb lighter than spec. if its not enough ill hang a saito 91 on it, if i feel its worth the money.I'm also pretty close to sea level, and that can usually make the difference.
