Default Help with chargers

Hi there

from the site i'm looking at there seems to be a couple in the price range, i was hoping to spend (about £30-40 )

and these are:

http://www.modelsport.co.uk/prolux-m...products/39979

and

http://www.modelsport.co.uk/etronix-...products/36541

Would both of these be ok to charge 2 - 3c LiPos, 5000mah or so?

and I can't tell, but i don't know much about chargers, would i need a power supply to run these?

thanks for your time

Either one will work for a 2s or 3s x 5000 mah and they both run on 12 v DC power. They are very similar to each other.

What amperage does the DC power supply need to be rated at?

It would depend on the specific job you are doing at the time , it has to be able to provide same or more power than the charging job you are doing.

At least one of the chargers has a max of 50 watts of power so in that case a ps with 60 watts would be adequate for any job. At 12 volts it is about 5 amps. The 50 watt charger is capable of doing 5 amps and for the 3s will use up the 50 watts nicely. (power is speed)

5 amps x 12 volts = 60 watt

For the 2s pack charging at 5 amps will only use up 42 watts max. A ps with 40-50 watts would probably be ok. I'd get a 60 + watt ps just in case.

Yep. I can't quite see what the charger's max power is, but even if it was 80 or 100 watts you are good to go. Looks like a good combo.
