replacement drill lipo battery
I have one 12v & one 18v drill with no batteries. I've read lipo can replace costly new original packs.
how many cells for each one? what capacity?
I'm looking at:
12v - http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...Lipo_Pack.html
18v - http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=6785
will they work?
thanks,V.

RE: replacement drill lipo battery
yea they will work
but ! i must warn you they need to fit and be protected, two LiPo should not be stored full charge, three running below 3v is hard not to do.
A123, LiFe is just the better way to go an still cheaper thay OEM replacement. They have none of above issues.

When the batt. barfed on my drill I put a Deans plug with extension wire on it and velcro one of my plane batts to the side of it. 800 ma and up works great.

RE: replacement drill lipo battery
If it were me i'd not use a lipo in a drill. A123 cells are fare more forgiving and can be charged very quickly. Lipos are not very forgiving if you forget to balance charge them

RE: replacement drill lipo battery
Got my batts from HK and wanted to solder the connections inside the drill handle, but there's no + or - sign on the brackets. Does the pos/ neg matter where it goes? I've got a reverse switch on the drill, if the rotation direction is the only concern. Don't want to burn the motor though
Thanks, V.
