Default yet another battery question

I have been out of the hobby for a number of years and am just now getting back into giant scale.Need to know what kind of batteries people are recommending.....ni-cd,ni-mh,...etc..??? I need a large capacity pack ,maybe 3000mah, for a 1/4 scale Sopwith Pup with 2 giant scale Hi-Tec 705mg servos,2 hi-torque and 1 standard servo. Don't think i necessarily need a 6 volt pack...but not sure why i would need 6 volts...don't really need the extra speed on the servo's...is there another reason i would 6 volts?

thanks,Dave

If you're running a 2.4 system you're better off with a 5 cell (6v) pack because they are more sensitive to low voltage.

Honestly though, for what you're doing, a Nicad or Nimh pack would be fine.

Yeah...not running 2.4 ...using a 6EX PCM...with a G-23 or G-26...haven't decided yet...depends on the coinage situation!!

I guess staying with a known brand is best...Sanyo...Panasonic..?? ...have found a good price on these.."
