Default hitec multicharger x4 plus question

When connecting the battery do you have to connect the battery via the battery lead the balancer lead? I tried just connecting via the balancer but I get battery connection error. It works fine when I connect both but how do u know its actually balancing?

Setup charger for the type of lipo you are charging and then hookup both leads to the charger.
Before starting the charger, hit the "inc" button and that will put it in the balance mode
Hit start to start charging
Once the charge process has started, hit the "inc" again and it will show you the voltage in each cell
Hit "inc" and it will go back to the first screen.
You can toggle back and forth with the "inc" button

The X4 doesn't charge through the "Node" connector. Both leads must be hooked up in order to balance charge. Bob hit the nail on the head. I know some chargers CAN charge through the "Node" connector as my FMA Cellpro's do this. The node connector is small so the amount of charge current is limited when using this method. For high amp charging/balancing both leads must be used.

Does anyone know if the X4 switches to trickle mode after charging NiCad/MiNh batteries? From what I can tell it does not.[&o]

I believe it is a peak charger... so when it senses that the pack is full.. it stops....

Other peak chargers such as the Hobbico Accu-Cycle Elite Battery Cycler switch to trickle charge once the pack is full when charging Nicad/NiMh in order to keep the pack at peak charge. Of course it does not do this with LI... type batteries.
