SuperNova 250. This is my second year using it with no problems. I fly both glow and electric so it serves my purpose well.

chargers
I have a Smartfastchargers unit. This is an Australian designed and made unit that is very good. Uses reflex charging and then goes into trickle mode.
I can charge my flight packs in about 20 mins with this unit and they do not get hot.
Selectable from 1 cell to 15 , 120mah packs right through to 7A !
Will do NiCd or NiMh.
For the field I have been using the new Hanger 9 double vision unit and quite like it.
Only complaint is that I would like an indaication of when the single cell charge is complete.
cheers
Peter

What fast charger do you use???
No one has mentioned Hobbico. I have used my Hobbico quick field charger 3 times. Seems to be working great. I did notice that when I charged both the plane and the transmitter at the same time, I looked for skin on the charger when I picked it up because it was so @#?& hot. I do wonder if I have the "cheap one" of the bunch listed.

battery chargers
mig29 is quite correct in that a reverse or bert charge works best.
The smartfastchargers unit I have uses this with peak predication followed by trickle charge.
If I could afford it I would buy a CASP 4000 as used by RAAF, USN and USAF to name but a few.
I have used them in my time as a RAAF Electronics tech and they are fantastic and will rejeuvenate cells.
thats my 2 bobs worth
cheers

Birp/reverse charging has been typically considered a myth used by manufactures for marketing. Does anyone have any real research showing it does improve charging and/or lifetime?

Chargers
Peter,
I wish I could answer your question.
I bought the sirrus charger and the super test some time ago.......That is the only equipment I use...It is a no brainer...and I have an accu-cycle also.....My batts are up there with the best.
I don't have to worry about plugging all my planes in the day before for 15 or so hours.....
Good Luck.

MIG-29, I think that, if you do a little more research, you will find that reverse charging (and burp charging) has absolutely no benefit at all, just pure advertising gimickry. If you don't believe this, check with the battery manufacturers themselves.

Super Turbo
I am using a Diamond Super Turbo. Great charger! Works with my R/C packs (NiCD) as well as my slow-flyer packs (NiMH). I also like the cycle modes, one of the major reasons I chose this charger.

I have been using the FMA SuperNova 250 for a year or so and have never had any problems charging any type of batteries! This is a great charger for the price!

What fast charger do you use???
Super turbo, Super nova, Robbe power, these are all ment for field charging High output NiCads or NiMH batteries for electric planes or cars. These chargers have output upto 7 amps! but only have single output (cannot charge Rx & Tx simmultaneously).
Can someone please suggest a delta peak charger/cycler ment for Tx & Rx use. It should not have a output current more then say 500mamps (standard Tx & Rx bats are 600mAH) should have a trickle rate of 10mamps or less, and could be used on indoor supply. It could charge the bats. night before flying, just run them for 4 - 5 sorties till they are charged before next sunday, without the constant fear of "gassing" or "undercharging" the bats.
