what i understand 4000mah
two 3s in parallel gives 8000at 3s
then this connected to a single 3s at 4000. I wish i could to good pictures.
total would be 6s at 12000mah. I'm pretty much sure the 8000 would dump into the 4000, not good.
Now if you had 4x3s giving 2 packs of 3s 8000, connect these in series to give the 6s would be ok.
You might have a tolerance in packs of a few hundred mah but having 4000 is too big of a jump.

If you was to Charge this way it is a completly different story.

Cheers, no would not charge in this way!

Will re-weight the plane as I have 4 3cell 4000mah lipos. So could do two in parallel connected in series. This would give 6cell and 8000mah?

Should be able to get the balance bang on with all of that!

sure as long as they are the same lipos, and fit in ok. don't know about the extra weight if that might cause you concern.
i just googled a 6s 8000mah and it weight 1111g and that was 6s1p, which i'm surprised, at that high they are normaly 6s2p/6s3p

Yea, ive seen the same but is cheaper to buy 4 3cells of 4000mah to give 8000mah 6cell ($80) than it is to buy a single 8000mah 6cell. Same C ratings. Cant think why its more expensive to buy one battery as the seperate 3cells would have 4 times as many power leads etc. The 4 3cells also have the advantage of being used individually in smaller planes and cars and spreads the investment (if one battaery goes bad). Any thoughts why one large battery is more expensive than 4 smaller ones?!

Sorry if ive hijacked this thread....

If all those numbers are actual numbers then it is ok to connect 2 3cells in parallel then connecting that in series to another PAIR OF 3cell in series

Good stuff.

Any thoughts why 4 3cells are cheaper than 1 6cell?
