Most folk I know say LVC useless with life as voltage does not drop enough during runs.

Low Voltage Cut-off- an alarm/beep reduced power that can be used not with life, to Indicate low power and to stop.

I would use any old pottery pot from jumble sale etc buried in a barrel of sand with just the lid showing, possibly weighed down. Or buy a broken old cooker to keep them in given their inherent heat proofing!!!!

LVC low voltage cutoff, LVD low voltage device (built into esc but works the same as the LVC), LVA low voltage alarm (plugs into balance plug on battery), These items are a must for LiPo which stops/warns the battery from over discharging, You only need one.

you could use two buckets a larger metal bucket, with the bottom have sand in then a smaller plastic bucket fits inside with sand between the two buckets, if there's a flame and melts the plastic bucket the sand will maybe cover the fire and still be inside a metal container to stop the spread. Use a fireproof blanket to cover the top.

We are on the same wavelength I was thinking of something similar..Inside the shed with all the protection I can give it.

I charge mine outside on a metal table. This way I can be free to do other things around the house. If I leave, I disconnect all power.

When I rarely charge indoors, I use a cement board 1/4" sheet (ceramic tile base) between the lipo and wood, ect, as an insulator.

I am very cautious when charging. But still don't trust the batts.

If I burn down my wife's dream house, I'm dead.

How about batteries in a ceramic pot in a bucket surrounded by sand in a barrel with sand surrounding the bucket- Russian doll style.....

Make a small brick area. Wire mesh on top with bag of sand on that.

Well here is one for ya, I am an example of the all the No No's during the Lipo charging, I was charging a battery in my basement, not only that, but it was still in the airplane. I left it unattended to go work outside on my camper. Im going to list the manufacter of the items, IM Not saying they were at fault in any way, This was my mistake, it was a Hobbico charger and thunder power 2cell lipo. During the charge cycle, it over charged and I ended up losing my home to the fire. It only took 3 minutes to engulf the basement and smoke damage 90% of my home. Now I know this was my fault for not monitoring the process. If I had stayed there to see it happen, I may have had an opportunity to put it out. My insurance company did cover everything, Thankfully...

My point being, I now use a hand gun safe to charge my batteries, I have a small hole in the side to get the leads thru, and can lock the door during the charge. even if it blow, nothing is getting outside of it. Has worked great since then. Nothing will probably ever happen again, but why chance it.

Hi Dave
That was yet another horrifying story from real people sharing real experiences and not these stupid You Tube vids.
I know i`m in a loosing battle in this ongoing LIPO debate..but there just seems to many risks for me..even with all the good intentions and careful management of the Lipo`s things can & do go wrong and quite frankly I do not think the risks are worth it..

and I know I am in a minority and I have read all your arguaments for the use of Lipo`s treated with extream care e.t.c.
I am glad no one was hurt Dave and am very pleased you have found a solution to the lipo charging

all the very best to you
Regards Steve
