Hobbykings Turnigy battery DX8 problem
Hey guys,
My buddy and I have been using the Turnigy 4000mah transmitter pack for the DX8.
Today while flying his redwing rc 50cc MXS-R his radio completely shut off. His plane nosed
in and tooth picked into pieces.
When he got home he put the battery on the charger to check it. It was 7.3 volts. Both of our
batteries charge up to about 8.1 volts.
Iguess what i'm wondering is if anyone else has had any kind of problem with these batteries?
They are priced nice and seem to have good reviews. But at the moment i'm hesitant to use my battery
until I know if there is a problem with alot of these batteries or did my buddy just get a bad pack.

RE: Hobbykings Turnigy battery DX8 problem
This happened? "features a built in voltage protection circuit, this circuit will automatically cutoff once the pack drops to 2.85v per cell ensuring the battery will not be damaged if you accidentally leave your transmitter switched on"
It would be my first guess. It's probably inaccurate. I don;t think I'd have any protection in a TX battery because I'd rather lose a battery than a plane.

I would guess that something else went wrong. Low voltage warning is 6.4 volts, so you still had plenty of voltage left. The screen on the DX8 shows the batt voltage as well as the pic of the batt. The reason it quit could be anything. A buddy had his quit about a week ago after he put a new switch in it. Found the connector on the new switch was bad and pulled out. The HK batt. has been in for about a yr. with no problems

The most common cause I've seen for something like this, is the connector coming loose or it not holding properly.
I've been using the HK TX Lipos for close to three years now and the only problem I've seen others have, has been with the connector.

RE: Hobbykings Turnigy battery DX8 problem
At this point everything checks out with a tight connection, but the battery
charger will say connection break near the end of the charge which is probably the failsafe
built into the battery.
My other battery completes the charge to the end. I guess at this point
I will just order another battery for him as they dont give 50cc planes away
and he cant afford to lose another one. lol
Thanks for the poll and your input
