Ace Voltmaster - add 5 cell option
Was looking at my old ACE Voltmaster I, which is working great except I am using 5 cell receiver packs now and it skips over the 5 cell option
It looks like it may be easy to add the correct resister to one of the unused switch positions to select a 5 cell option....
Has anyone tried this ? I think I will give it a try --- should not be too hard to figure out the correct value resister to use
Thanks for any feedback

RE: Ace Voltmaster - add 5 cell option
Took it apart last night --- it looks very easy -- we need to replace two resisters -- that are now used for 6 cells with 3.111K total -- looked at what is available and a 3.01K + 111 will do it --- ACE uses 1% ones so may have to find those ---
Will give it a try next week if I find the 1% --- I guess I could test some 5% ones and find some right on and give them a try
I will let you know how I turn out ==== of course the meter scale for the 5 cell position is still going to read the 6 cell values --- thats not a problem for me -- I usually just notice how much it is into the green
also noticed there are several unused positions on the switch after the 10 cell position--- we could put the 3.111K resisters on a seperate wire and have a secret 5 cell position at the end after the 10 cell spot (undocumented - hehe) --- I might try that first before I pull out the 6 cell resisters --- have all options then ---
to doc the resisters
4 cell is 2k (this position uses a single resister)
6 cell is 4.22
8 cell is 6.445
10 cell is 8.655
5 cell should be 3.111

RE: Ace Voltmaster - add 5 cell option
Hello Coveredup,
I saw this 2003 post today, and was wondering if you still had info on how to convert a ACE R/C inc. Voltmaster to meter a 5-cell battery pack?
If you do, would you mind (please,) emailing it off to me at [email protected].
It would help a lot and I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks
AC
