Default Battery question

Hey guys Im new here! I just bought a HPI Drift RC, and My question is....
It came with a Plazma 7.2 NIMH 2000 Mah battery. It only runs for 15/20 min...
Now can I change for a 5000 mah So I can have more play time?
Is it safe to do it or, I have to change something in the car as well?
Thank you

You won't harm the motor as long as it's 7.2 volts. Issues would be the extra weight and space.

And Do you know how long the 5000 battery will run for?

No.
It will run longer but don't expect double the run time.

hey there thanks for the info as im in the same boat as Nato , but i've got a further question

the stock motor on that Firebolt 15T i think which isnt powerful by any means, but its said on the instructions manual that there are settings for Li-po that will be adjustable by the reciver & ESC

so will a 2-3 Cell li-po battery be a good idea you think ? i just love the car the way it is atm all i want is increase the uptime for the batteries without having to swap em out too often

thanks inadvance for the reply

Does it say in the manual what size lipos to use. More voltage = more speed.
