New to hobby with a question?????
I just purchased a traxxas nitro stampede model 4110. It needs a battery pack for the ez start. My question is can I use a nimh or do I have to stick with nicd?

You can use NiMH. I suggest using a Venom NiMH pack; http://www.atomikrc.com/collections/...al-plug-system
