Default NIMH battery help

So I've been trying to get help For over a week on this. No one will answer me. My NIMH battery has a disconnected WirE. Can I solder this wire back to the battery?

Yes if you know how to do it.
DO NOT LET THE BATTERY GET HOT!

It should be possible to repair it. Was the wire soldered or welded directly to the battery or was there a tab that the wire was soldered to? Most of the solder joints on batteries are no longer the 60/40 lead/tin mix (lead being prohibited in some areas) and the new type solder is much more difficult to redo and usually requires a higher temperature than the solder we are familiar with. Whether or not it is reparable depends on the type metal you are trying to attach the wire to.
