Question Using Alkaline Batteries, AA size in an old Conquest FP-4NL Transmitter?

Well, I have an old Futaba Conquest and I need to know if an 8 pack of AA Alkaline Batteries, properly mounted in Series, can be used in the Transmitter.

Yes, I know that fresh AAs (at 1.53V each) would equal 12.24 V versus the nominal 11V of a fully charged 8 pack of NiCads.

Has anyone used Alkalines in Older Xmitr's ??

Thanks for any help.

I just found a Futaba S30050 UM3 Tx 8 Cell Dry Battery Case, which will certainly fit, but still doesn't truly answer my question. Certainly NiCads are just as "Dry" as Alkaline.

Yes, both NiCad and NiMh dry cells as well as Alkaline cells will work fine with that radio.

Thanks Rodney, good to have conformation on my assumption, versus trail and error.
