Default Upgrading the battery in a cheap RC car - Need some help!

Hey everyone,

First time poster here. My son recently received a cheap RC car as a present, and he's really been liking it. Eventually, we'll be upgrading to real RC car, but for the time being this is getting him some decent practice.

This is the car that was purchased for him.

It's a velocity toys Truggy Storm. It has a Li-ion 7.4v 380mAh battery, and I was thinking of upgrading it so he could get some longer drive time in.

Here are some pictures of the compartment, battery, and connectors:

I haven't been able to find anything with a similar connector.
I not looking to spend a lot of money on a battery upgrade, since the car was not expensive.

I found this battery for under $10

Would this battery work? Pretty easy to wire up?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks for your time!

Do you own a soldering iron? As you will be needing one for replacing connectors.

The stock battery has those four wires going into that black plug. I'm not even sure what to call the plug. Thunder Power Plug? I'm just guessing here (I never saw a battery pack like that use in radio controlled vehicles). The stock pack looks like two typical 18650 LiPo cells connected. The ones I use have their own recharge/discharging protection circuit, they only get slow charged at 600mah.

Hopefully somebody will be along here to better guild you as I don't know what charger you are using or what amperage it's set at.
