Default New to rc cars

As a child i allways wanted tammy rc car subaru and finely got my self 2003 scooby new in the box but its has no batteries our charger. Im total noob and need help its says 9.6 ni-cd. But i hope no clue what will working in it and what batteries are gd for long drives plz help

That vehicle takes a 6-cell pack (7.2 volts)
A pack with a higher "mah" rating will run the vehicle for a longer period of time.
