Default Onyx 210 question

Hello, I'm hoping someone can clarify something for me. I have a Duratrax Onyx 210 charger that I use for my NIMH batteries. I've noticed that during a charge, the screen shows the charge rate in amps (say, 3 amps for instance) and will drop to 0.00 for a few seconds and then go back up to 3. It does this about once a minute forh e duration of the charge. Is this normal?

Thanks!

I believe that's normal for some chargers. More than likely it's the program checking how much the voltage is dropping.

Ok so I just put a pack on it, and it appears that every 55 seconds the charge current drops to 0 for a few seconds. Would this be for the peak detection function?

The charger probably uses a form of delta peak voltage cutoff for peak detection.
