What's wrong with my lipo charger ?
I have a brand new gens ace 2s 5000mah 50c lipo. Right out of the box, I used it in my Losi ten at a half charge at 3.85v. I had then tried to balance charge it after, and it took 2 hours just to get it to 3.95v. My charger is charging it a 0.7 - 1.0 volts. I should have it at 5.0v because my battery is 5000mah, but my power supply only supports up to 1.5 volts. The problem is that when balance charging my lipo, it shows it at a full 8.40 volts even though I could see that each cell is at about at 3.80 volts each. So it should be only at about 7.4 - 7.6. So why does it say it's at a full 8.4 v charge even though I just plugged it in? I'm using the turnigy accucell 6 for my gens ace.

Assuming you mean .7 to 1.0 amps, a battery that is at 30% would require 3.5 hours to charge plus about 15-30 min balancing time.
Don't know why it references 8.4 v, unless it is reading the driving voltage.

have it at 5.0 amps for a 1C charge rate because my battery is 5000mAh , but my power supply only supports up to 1.5 amps.
As far as the charger reading 8.4v...I think you may have started a charge function other than STORAGE charge and then pushed the DEC (-) button during the charging process and is showing the various information in the program..."End Voltag 8.4v(2S)"
Your charger's power supply is only about 10 watts?

If your power supply can only do 1.5 amps then you will not charge at more than 1 amp for sure. Are you sure about the 1.5 amp limit on the power supply? I have never seen a supply that low. At 1 amp charge time will be up to 5 hours depending on battery state of charge when you start.
