Default Combining Batteries

I have a RC that takes a 19.2v NiCd battery. Can I connect 2- 9.6v NiCd together & be about the same Voltage ?? I have allot of the 9.6v that I would like to use. The cost of a 19.2v is out of my range for now.
Thank you,
Huey

???????????So tell me if you had a single pack made from the same amount of cells all soldered together why don't you have to switch them around?????????????Makes no sense.

Make a wiring harness so the packs will be in series the most important part is the packs must be the same capacity preferably the same manufacturer and better yet the same age. Nicads packs you can charge individually or connected as a single pack if your charger can handle it.

Huey, this is more of what you are looking for. Its hard to describe with words, but this diagram explains everything pretty well.

There are all kinds of cautions out there about charging and discharging nicads in parallel. On the other hand there were two packs, two switches and a buss for receiver/servos but if I remember correctly the packs were charged individually. I personally have no experience with nicads in parallel so I cannot advise with any certainty.

He's not looking for parallel, and I know you need a diode for parallel. Series doubles the voltage to meet the need he has.

Thanks guys. I have a Ski Doo Snomo that takes a 19.2v. Ebay is so expensive, so that's why I wanted to combine 2- 9.6v. Any extra info would help.
Thanks again,
