Default Anticipated Run Time? Tamiya stock buggy on 3000mah.

Was going to pick up some new NiMh packs for a Blitzer Beetle and Racing Fighter, both stock on "sport turned" Tamiya motors. Wondering if 3000mah is adequate in their stock state or if I would get bored on a 4200Mah and simply paid more for something I won't use. I want to say the ones I had before were 2000 or 2200Mah and I don't remember them feeling short...but it's been a while.
