A123 Battery Cell Resistance Values
My Icharger shows cell resistance values during charging. I am getting some pretty high readings on some of my A123 packs. At what resistance level would I need to stop using these packs?
These packs seem to charge normally and the cells balance but the high resistance values are concerning.

Unlike lipos that usually show between 2-5 mOhms, (.002-.005 Ohms), when I charge a123 1100mah cells I usually see between .2-.3 ohms, which is about 100 times more resistance than lipo cells. This is measured buy my Revolectrix GT1000 charger. YMMV.

Internal resistance is really only a factor for motor packs, lower C packs have higher internal resistance, its why they are rated lower and on RX packs like Life and A123 its nothing to worry about unless one is way out of whack compared to the other cell or cells in the pack
