Default Using Integy charger to charge TX batteries?

I have an Integy INDI 16x3 pro 2.5 which has an adapter cord to charge transmitter batteries. I have the JR XS3 radio with some GP 2300 AA batteries in it. The manual on the radio says not to use any other brand of charger as it may reverse the polarity.

So I have 2 questions here.

1) Has anyone used this charger to plug into their radio to charge the TX batteries? (Used it in the XS3? Does it work well?)

&

2) Does charging the batteries through the radio have any downsides as opposed to pulling them out and throwing them in a separate charger?
