Default Solar Battery charger???

anyone use solar panels to top off your field battery when out at...the field??

Harbor freight has a couple for pretty cheap, was just curious if anyone does this and if so.... what panels do you use??

Thanks

Scroll down to the second entry.

Did a search on RCU and turned up nothing of consequence. Hope you get some good replies.

Yes it has been done but, it takes a very large solar panel to be of much use. A typical 15 inch square panel will only supply about 300 ma. into 12 volts and then only with bright sunlight and optimum orientation. It is not a practical solution.
