What I use is an Expert on-board voltage monitor. When I take off or taxi, I can see the readings. It is amazing how much a pack will recover just by sitting powered off for 15 minutes. I get a good indication of my packs capability with on-board monitoring. All my planes have them!

Hey Geist. Is that anything like the Hobbico Voltwatch? I've considered buying one of those, but they only work with 4.8V packs. I'm planning on using 6V packs. Where can I get one?
