Default Lithium Battery question

I am trying the new lithiums, 2x2000mah 7.2 volt packs on a 30% edge with a 6.0v regulator. At what voltage point do you recommend recharging, or what volts are no longer safer to fly?

Default Lithium Battery question

I fly mine down to 7.4v when checking with a load. I use my hobbico digital load. Assuming you are using 6 digitals, 1 standard you should be able to fly 25+ 20 minute flights. I use li-ion on all my planes. 1630 or 1800 mah, 2 sets with gas stuff. I usually recharge after each session because the li-ion will last some 15k-17k cycles if only drawn down to 75% of charge. I can't imagine an airplane lasting that long!

Default Lithium Battery question

I suggest a 1-amp load for testing and utilize 6.9 to 7.0 volts as the stop fly point. This should give you a reasonable safety margin and plenty of flying during a day. You should contact the manufacture of the pack and verify this number.

Default Lithium Battery question

Thanks for the info, they are from superbatterypacks.com, I have run several of his other packs with good results. Who makes a 1amp load meter, all I have is the hobbico, only 500mah load I think.
