Default 12v Power Supply for Bantam E902

I have a bantam E902 Charger and I am experiencing problems with 12v power supplies.
Tried using a Hobbico 12v Power Supply, my E902 charger does no works!!!
Hobbico Charger delivers a steady 13.8V at 11.5A.
Tried a second time a Hobbico 12v Power Supply that comes with Hobbico Accu Cycle Elite. It´s different from the first one. But it delivers 12V. Once again nothing happens. E902 charger does not works!!!
Tried a last time a Duratrax 7a 12V pocket power supply. This time my E902 charger works.
But when I am charging a Lipo 3S 1700mAh, my E902 charger gives a bip (alert sound) and terminates (interrupts) charging process!!
What is wrong?
I can put my Graupner Ultra Duo Plus, my Triton charger and my Accu Cycle Elite working fine with both Hobbico 12v Power Supplys, but my bantam charger only accepts Duratrax pocket charger!
I am thinking moving to a ATX PC power supply. It delivers a 12v 10A constant.
Please, any help!

I'd say the troubles are in the input voltages. Can you check the specs or range of voltage that the charger needs and then compaqre it to the actual voltage checked with a voltmeter?

the output voltage of 12V power supply is in the scope of the input voltage of your charger, and check the USER setting, the minimal input voltage limit should be less than 10.5V or 11V.

Jason
The minimal imput voltage limit in my E902 charger is 10v (checked in user settings)
I suspect that Hobbico 12v power supply delivers more than 12v (13,5v) to charger.
Next weekend, using a voltmeter, I will test output voltage delivered from:
1. Hobbico 12v power supply
2. Hobbico 12v power supply that comes with Hobbico Accu-Cycle Elite charger (different from n.1)
3. Duratrax 12v pocket power supply (7A) (The only one that works with my e-902 charger)
I am suspecting that the Duratrax is the only one power supply that delivers true 12v. The other ones may be delivering more than
12v. Thisa could explain maybe why Bantam charger does not accept these power supplies from Hobbico.

I can't find in the web some information which power supply people are using with BANTAM Chargers.
This information could help me to find a good power supply.
Thanks any way.

Default RE: 12v Power Supply for Bantam E902

Bantam E-902 user's guide information:

Operating Voltage DC 11~18V

My question:
Hobbico 12v Power supply is DC or AC?
If E-902 accepts input voltage from 11~18V it MUST work with Hobbico 12v Power Supply!!!

Why limit imput voltage in Bantam 902 charger to 10v if voltage from power supply be 12V?

I am confused.
Is my charger defective???

My I try a DC and not a AC power supply? My I try a ATX PC power supply?

Thanks again.

From Hobbico web site, concerning Hobbico 12v Power Supply:

Transforms AC sources into DC power whenever it's needed. The unit works with any 12V DC accessory because it delivers a steady 13.8V at 11.5A-and is even ideal for peak chargers because the output is filtered to prevent false peaks.
Convenient, front-mounted terminals for 12V and 5V power make hook-ups fast and easy

So once again:

Why BANTAM E-902 Charger DOES NOT WORKS (Turns on) when I plug it to Hobbico 12V power Supply?

Why it only works with a small pocket power supply from Duratrax (12v - 7A) only?

I am becoming crazy!!
Help, please.

You can probably eliminate the Elite ps because it oes way up over 9 volts at times. I agree, the other hobbico SHOULD work.

guver.
When I connect Hobbico 12v ps that comes with Accu Cycle Elite I have a message from Bantam "... input voltage error..."
When I try the first Hobbico 12v ps (The bigger one) it just does not tunr on my Bantam charger!!
So, neither Hobbico´s 12v ps works with my charger.

Hi Henrique,

"Low Voltage Error" is displayed when the power supply is not putting out enough volts for the charger to run.

Have you tried using it on a 12V car battery?

The Hobbico probably does not deliver true DC but a half wave.

Default RE: 12v Power Supply for Bantam E902

Problem finally solved.
I purchased a ATX PC power supply and converted to a 12V power supply to my Bantam E-902.
Since then, everything is OK!!!!
Whtat's incredible? BOTH HOBBICO power supply DOESN'T SUPPLY 12V !
The first one (the bigger one), ONLY 9V. The second one (that comes with AccuCycle) only 11V. But it seems that is not a constant and stabilized power supply.
I am preparing a second ATX PC for my other chargers.
They are cheaper and are the BEST power supplys I could imagine.
Thanks guys.
Henrique
