Bought this charger but the LHS owner goes after the manual which was missing in the box. There's a small connection on the left side of the charger, what is it for?



Also, if somebody knows where to download a manual it would be really appreciated

I've got a supernova 3000 but have lost my instruction. I'm guessing that small connector is for charging RX packs. Put my multimeter across the pins and got 5 volts, but have been unable to draw any current from it yet. I'll do some more investigating. As for the manual I can't help but I found a product review that might help. Its from a different market where its not called a supernova, but has relavant info.

I had a feeling this charger was known under another name just like the 250S ,

Got a pleasant surprise when searching for Infinity;
The plug is actually to connect the charger to the PC to receive the data sent by the charger. You can view the charge-/discharge curves.

You can download (Free) software with a printing-function in it, a simple connection diagram is also on-line available.

That would be awesome to plot the charge/discharge curves and see how your batteries are performing. Could you please post a link to the software and online information you spoke off.

I have my Orbit Microlader hooked up to my laptop to watch the charge/discharge curves. It's definitely interesting to watch. Probably about 10% useful info, and 90% just sort of neat to see.

You have to download a program called ' Opeak '
from here:

You can use a 9 or 25 pin sub-D connecter
for the connection:

http://www.opeak.de/german/software/hard.htm

I downloaded the software, went to JayCar and got a plug to fit side of charger and a 9 pin serial port plug. Made up a cable and it works sweet. Cool to watch.
