Default Flightpower EVO30 vs. EVO25

Has anyone tried the new EVO30 packs? Specifically, I am currently using an EVO25 2170mah 3S pack in a mini titan with a Scorpion power system. I am curious if the EVO30 2000mah is worth trying. It appears it may give me a little more kick. Thoughts anyone?

Depends on what your current setup is trying to pull.

The 25c pack is good for about 55 amps if I remember correctly. Unless you're trying to pull more than that you won't see much difference.

Well, I am running the Scorpion 2221-8 with the Commander 45A V1 speed control. Not sure what amperage that setup is pulling. I was just curious if I would notice more "punch" with the 30C pack.

If you're running a 45a speed controller then a battery that can deliver 55 amps is already above what the esc can handle so putting one in that can deliver 60amps wouldn't feel any different in flight.

Yes, makes sense now. I suppose I would need to upgrade the ESC to feel a difference. Will an ESC rated at 45A max continuous deliver a higher burst amperage, or is 45A the limit?

I'm no electrical power systems stud but I say that if your setup (pinion, motor combo) pulls more amps than your esc can handle you let the magic smoke out of the ESC. If your ESC is rated at more amps than the battery and you pull too much current the LIPO will puff up.
