Charge rate question, nimh nicad
I just bought me a venom charger and have absolutly NO idea of what am or volt or ma to charge my nicad or nimh batteries at. I have read some stuff on these but never a bone headed description for folks like me that need it broke down for each of my batt's. I ask that noone with a bacholors degree try to describe it. (Just kidding) I am a novice at detailed charging and discharging so please be patient and polite. I am used to the plug and play charger/discharger stuff.
Here are the batteries I have;
NICAD
5 cell 1100mah 6v
4 cell 1100mah 4.8v
NIMH
5 cell 2700mah 6v
5 cell 1500mah 6v
4 cell 2700mah 4.8v
4 cell 2150mah 4.8v
4 cell 1500mah 4.8v
Here are the batteries I have;
NICAD

4 cell 1100mah 4.8v
NIMH
5 cell 2700mah 6v
5 cell 1500mah 6v
4 cell 2700mah 4.8v

For any batts that are power batts (or short fat cells) you can use a rate equal to the battery's capacity (1C)
1.1,2.7,1.5,2.15, ect.
If they are low power cells (or long skinny cells like AA , AAA) then cut that to 25% of the batt's capacity.

well, i can read all of that and go nowhere. i need some one to dumb it up for me. with the batteries I have mentioned and put what I should charge them at and discharge them at. oh, i aint much on reading either hehe!

I thought I did that as simple as I could. Are your batteries radio batts or skinny ones? OR are they power batts like short fat ones?
If you'd like to be safe then charge as follows: 500 ma.

they are the flat ones for air rx's. i know you did the best you could to dumb it down but, really, if you only knew how dumb'd down i really need stuff described to me LOL!

the only pack that I can actually see the cells are from tower in the yellow shrink wrap. they are sanyo 1100mah each and there are 5 of them. It says " KR-1100AEL. They are nicads.

yeah they look odd. shorter than an A battery and skinnier than a sub c and a cr123 like in my rifle's flashlight

Charging isn't complicated.
Charge at 1/10 of the battery's capacity (normally called C/10) for normal charging and for the first charge. I haven't owned a Venom charger before, but most detect the right voltage themselves. If not, you may need to tell the charger how many cells the pack is. For a fast charge, charge at the battery's capacity or lower for typical RC battery packs. It's ok (and beneficial) to go slower, but not faster. So, for example, if your pack is 4.8 volts and 1500 mAh, then you would slow charge at 150 mA and fast charge at 1.5 A (1500 mA) or less.
