Slow Charging LiPos
We were discussing batteries at the field yesterday and someone suggested slow charging my LiPos.
Similar to Nixx they said the slow charge was better for the batteries life span.
I have not heard that mentioned in these forums.
Does anyone have any statistical information on this?
Thanks,

RE: Slow Charging LiPos
data that i can prove no. But I have MANY lipo's and have been flying them for several years. thais is my observation . storing a fully charged LIPO is bad for it's life span. charging at 1c is the proper way to charge lipo's . yes i have tried slow charging and even cycling and have seen no noticeable change. it output , or life span. p.s. I currently own 17 lipo's all thunder power

RE: Slow Charging LiPos
When it comes to LiPO the statistical information is hard to prove
If slow is 1C then YES it is good
All batteries like to be slow charged less than 1C even LiPO but most use 1C and get hundreds of cycles.
New LiPO should be slow cycled a few times then up to full load.

RE: Slow Charging LiPos
Hi wattheads,
I just got 2 Flightmax(Zippy) 30C 5000mah lipos and would like to not have to wait an hour for recharge. Can I charge these with a Turnigy Balancing charger at 2C or 1.5C. without killing or puffing the batteries? Would appreciate some feedback from someone charging at higher than 1C.
