Good Rechargable AA's?
I have tried numerous types of rechargable AA's for my radios and misc electronics and most dont last for very many cycles. I have heard that I need to be looking for long life batteries that have a low discharge rate. Looking at the regular name brands I not finding anything to reassuring. Anyone know of a good quality AA battery that wont leave me cursing them in a few months?

The charger you're using has a great effect on battery life. The demand from the equipment it's powering has an effect too. A little more info on what you're doing will make answering your question easier.

Given your first post I thought you might be overloading your batteries, but it doesn't appear so. The other posters have it right, but still the charger and method of charging you use makes a big difference in battery life.

I have no problem letting batteries charge slow and overnight if possible. Right now I am using wal mart nimh 2000mah batteries but they just dont last very long even when I just use them to power small items. So looking to invest a little now to save alot over time. What is a good charger?

Yep, I use them for both my camera flashes and my transmitter radios. They last twice as long as most of my AA nimh's and will retain their charge longer. So if you don't use them for a month they still retained 90% of their charge. So if you forget to charge them and you get to the track/field/whatever you'll still have 90% of the charge.

It's not a matter of whether they work, it's a matter of how well they hold a charge under load and how quickly they self discharge.

Any of the programmable peak detecting chargers are good. I have a Triton, but Accucycle Elites and a number of others are just as good. Nimh batteries are sensitive to overcharging, especially in the higher capacities, so if you use a cheap charger you aren't going to get the best service life out of them.
