Can it be fixed?
 

O.K. so the other day after having had too much coffee I tried to replace the plug on one of my new batteries (a 3 cell lipo for my 450 heli) with a Deans plug. This was a bad idea because I couldn't hold still and ended up shorting out the battery. I think what happened was that the short caused the copper connection on the top of the battery board to break the connection which is why the battery will not work now. I believe that the cells are fine. Has anyone out there ever tried to replace this board? I was thinking about trying it but I'm thinking I should leave well enough alone.

You could try to solder across the burned out area with a small piece of wire.

But if you don't fell comfortable doing this, toss it.

Ehh, I tossed it. I've decided that Lipos are too scary for me. It's in a bucket of salt water now. Anyone know how long to leave it in, and what to do with it next? I've seen stuff on you tube where some ppl say that putting them in a bucket of salt water really doesn't work.

I heard leave it for like 2 weeks then just throw it in the trash.
They are not a hazard.

If you still have the battery, it does not hurt to open it up.

I have once replaced a bad cell on a 5s 5000mah pack. It's two copper connectors have to be cut off to be removed.

If the copper connector was melted in your case, you need big and thick wire to sold it back.
