Ace CVC Battery Charger LED
My son has an Ace CVC charger that is used to charge his 12 volt gel cell. One of the LEDs has burned out. The LED that indicates the unit is plugged in works fine. It is the LED that indicates when the unit has fully charged the battery that is burned out. Is there anyone out there that can tell me the size, part number, or some other info so we can purchase a new LED to replace the one that is burned out?
Thanks in advance, Cajuncharley |
RE: Ace CVC Battery Charger LED
Most garden variety LEDs are fairly interchangeable. Radio Shack should have something.
BUT usually LEDs are very reliable and don't burn out like pilot lamps. You probably have more wrong than just the LED. Usually there is a driver (could be an FET or a transistor or a logic chip) that turns the LED on. Some really simple current indicators use a resistor in parallel with the LED that could be burn't out. What I'm trying to say is send it in to get it repaired. John |
RE: Ace CVC Battery Charger LED
There are two versions of the CVC. The original is a rather plain box, the newer one looks like all the other current equipment, mostly blue, with handles on the side that stick up from the front panel.
No matter! Last I knew, Thunder Tiger, the current owner of Ace does not service any of its electronics, but I would check before senging it in. If it would help, I have the schematic diagram, I believe it is the new version, but her is probably little difference between the two. |

I may have a schematic of the older unit if you need it_bob

Hi. do you still have the schematic for the later ACe CVC-2 charger. Could you email it to me. to:[email protected]
Thanks |
I think so.
I'll take a look in the basement tomorrow. I may have to wait to get to work to scan it. Have a good holiday. Bob |
Got my scanner working.
Sent file... Happy New Year! Bob |
Eloy, do you still have that Ace RC CVC schematic? Mine is acting up and I need this. If you have it, please send it to me at [email protected]. Thanks,
Mike |
