Dynatron Starter batteries

IU just picked up a Dynatron starter and have the usual 12 vt 7 amp battery for the field box. I was wondering what people are using for batteries for this starter. I was thinking about taking 2 of the field box batteries and making a 12-24 vt setup with a switch in between. Anyone using anything else?
Thanks
Jeff

RE: Dynatron Starter batteries

I use a pair of six cell 2400mah Nicad made with 12GA silicone wire wired in series with Dean's ultra connectors to the starter. The batteries are strapped to the side of the starter with cable ties. Lightweight and very portable. Lot more torque and no cable to contend with.
