New to the A123s.

when do you know they need to be charged?

Most people use 2.8V per cell as the cut off. Some go to 2.5, but my Astro thinks that's too low.

You need to know the capacity of the battery and your usage per flight. Do it the old fasion way or get a mAh counter. A volt meter or trying to use voltage DOES NOT WORK WITH A123 batteries. The above post is refering to dischage voltage for cycling, NOT FOR A SAFE FLYING VOLTAGE.

go to hangtime hobbies (nobs batteries) steve has a great web on battery use...especially A123's GREAT INFO!!!
