Default 4 year old practicing landings...

Just thought I would share a beginner's success story. He started out on the simulator, and now he almost doesn't need me anymore!!

Outstanding!!!!!!!!

I love seeing kids like this that seem to have a natural ability for flying.

OK, keep this video as a momento of "the early years", as in a couple of years or so you may find yourself shelling out bigger bucks for more expensive planes, one or two gallons of glow fuel per week, a more capable radio, and on and on and .................

Seriously, that is outstanding, and I hope your son keeps his interest in flying for life.

Great video! I love to see such a young kid flyng so well. I have a 3 year old son who has almost mastered the sim and has been coming out to the flying field since the day he was born. I bought a Tower Hobbies trainer when he was 6 months old just for that reason. I guess I might have jumped the gun a little! He has flown on the buddy box some and is getting better. Great video and thanks for sharing!

Glad to see you've got one interested and doing so well. I just wish my two would show any interest at all. Looks like he has natural talent for this and will be wanting to 3D before too long. Good luck to you both.

Thank you guys. He is my youngest of three, and he's the only one who has any real interest in the hobby. My other two boys are just not interested. Little Oliver has been coming out to the flying field for a couple of years now. His favorite toys are die cast metal airplanes and lego airplanes that he builds himself.

I think there will probably be more to come from him in the future, and I will work overtime at work to make sure I keep him flying all the time.

"Aviators are born, not made". I wonder who first came up with that?

Hehe, I have been flying RC for four years, and I don't fly better than Oliver.

He is a natural pilot.

I loved watching the video; thanks for posting.

We have a youngster and his grand-pa that come out to our field on a regular basis. The youngster is about 7 years old. I watch him fly and it's amazing to me that he has such command on his model. And, of course, his grandpa is there with a huge smile on his face. We all enjoy watching both of them.. the youngster fly and grandpa's reaction to it.

Man this is great to see. Hope he stays with it because it looks like he's on his way to being a great RC pilot.

Some of the best moments I have had in this hobby were this past summer when little Ollie started flying on the buddy box. You can hear my excitement in the video. It's better than my own successes by a long shot.

Hi,
When did your son start to learn on the simulator ?
I've an almost 2 years old son who just loves planes... if I bring him to an airfield he's like in paradise.

Oliver started on the sim when he was about 3. We use it as a privilege that can be taken away, but he is usually well-behaved enough that it is not a concern. You may want to start with some pre-school learning type games before jumping into this, or you can let your son sit on your lap and help while you fly on the sim.
