Default New to Gas

Hello, I'm just getting into Gasoline engines. Is there a thread or site that talks about how to set them up and tune them?

Somewhere there is an EXCELLENT thread on tuning gassers that is spot on.

Synopsis:

Set both needles richer than factory specs... and start the engine with the prop you will be using on it.

Tune the HIGH END first for MAX RPM's and back off a bit so it runs a bit rich w/o four stroking or misfiring.

Then start throttling the engine down, one step at a time, listen for four stroking or misfires.

Lean out the LOW SPEED needle to stop that four stroking/misfires at that throttle setting.

Then lower the throttle another "step" again and repeat these last two steps.

Continue until the engine is at idle.

Go fly.

After learning that technique, it's what I use, and it's MUCH easier than others.

Also the LS needle on a gasser does not work the same way as it does on a glow engine!
