Default Receiver question

If I have a Futaba 7 channel transmiter, can I use the transmitter with a Futaba 4 channel receiver or does the receiver also need to be a 7 channel? The reason I ask is that I am building a plane that only requires 4 channels and I'd hate to use my extra 7 channel receiver if I don't have to.

Hi

No you do not have to use the 7 channel receiver. A 4 channel on the same freq, or a FASST receiver will work, as long as they are compatable.

That is what I was hoping. It is a FASST transmitter so I'll be ordering an additional 4 channel FASST reeiver.

The opposite is true as well, you can use a 7 channel rx with a 6 or even 4 channel transmitter provided the moduation is compatable, you just wont have access to any of the channels the transmitter isn't equipped for.

just to add to what Andy said...........With FASST there is a difference in modulation between 7ch and below, vs 8ch and above receivers......

If you have the manual ? Turn to
page #8. It shows the Rx's you can
use with the 7C.

Also , IF , you are buying a new RX you might want to take a good look at the price between a 4 ch & a 6 ch RX. It might be better to buy a 6 then a 4 . ENJOY !!! RED
