RE: The Unofficial World Record Hobbyzone longest wing span!
The Bi-Plane wing is neat, but it is hard to get a turn started, then its hard to get out of a turn. But, my Aerobird was not flying too well at the time anyway (servo junk). The wing is made up from two folded Aerobird wings, some foam, and epoxy.

These are great shots.
A suggestion.
You say the turns are hard to start, then hard to get out of once started.
The Aerobird's wing has some dihedral in it, the end of the wing is higher than the center when it is flying. Part of htat is due ot the flex of the foam wing.
I think you biplane set-up has made the wind stiff enough that it is not flexing in flight and thus has lost some of that dihedral effect.
If you make another wing, you might tryforcing some rise from the center to the end by angling the foam blocks. This way the plane can roll with the dihedral the way it normally does.
Anyway, great job! I love it.
It is not clear to me how you fasten the wing to the plane.
Does the bi-wing come apart?
If it is permanantly joined, or do you join it on the plane somehow?
Do you slide it on from the back?
A suggestion.

this is just my two cents guys, john has expressed my feelings about that series of "somewhat controlled" planes and yes about 14 mons ago now i was writing %#$@!! letters to horizon hobby that probobly shouldnt of been sent, but i got over it, sucked it up and went on to an arrow trainer and a sig 110w\a saito 150 and im hear to tell ya the pucker factor@ the field has dropped to the point that im having fun!! which was what iwas searching for in the beginning. later, flip-flop-fly! aka Ted

Aeajr,
The wing is held on by taking off the wheels and slipping it over the nose, then the top wing is secured in the same way the stock wing is. The bottom wing is a floater, I have secured it in the past with no change in flight results.
I do want to add, I have othe planes, but the FB and ABC hold a place in my heart. For without them I could not teach myself how to fly my new glow trainer. You see...I don't have a stuffy old Rc club to join in my area. But I must fly!

Wow procrastinotor,
We are of the RCU elete, lol.
Everyone on here says you have a 99% chance of failure if you don't join a club and fly, lol. I learned from the aerobird also, now I am flying an LT 40. Some of these people can't get it through their narrowminded head that clubs don't exist EVERYWHERE, lol. Its nice to know there are more of us[sm=lol.gif]

RE: Stir. bay-bee....Stir
Help me understand here, why would anyone want to tape a bunch of wings together from a bad flying series of airplanes that has turned a lot of folks away from the sport?

RE: Stir. bay-bee....Stir
ahh now i get it, i saw the first pic and thought it was a HLG with a rather nice paint job, look at full size, and its a ball of FUN
i've got the B2 stealth thingy, flys c£&p but when we're out ot shows, drunk in the evenings nothing is more fun that chasing people around the campsite with this barely controlable thing.
triplane aerobirds, get on love it..
