Default Slow fly prop or not?

Picked up a couple of props for my 28oz. Electric yak

I chose the SF. Slow fly props. They seem thinner than the regular electric props.

Now I wonder if I choose correctly? What would be appropriate for the SF props.

I think it was a 11x4.7 prop... I figured I will be flying slow 3D ?????

Insufficient info on your post, but you posted again in another thread.

There you gave the rest of the information.

Switch to a standard "E" prop.

This a good site to help you select the most efficient prop/ motor combination
for your application.
If your motor is not listed just use the closest KvA rating.
It has worked well for me.

I have used SF props where a slim E prop was recomended and preferred it, but it all depends on set up. post as much info as you have available

Default RE: Slow fly prop or not?

G'day

On APC's website they suggest -

Glow Props Max rpm = 190,000 / prop diameter in inches

Therefore a 10 x 6 prop has a max rpm rating of 19,000 rpm

Thin Electric and Folding Electric = 145,000 / diameter in inches

Therefore a 10 x 6 prop has a max rpm rating of 14,500 rpm

Slow fly props Max rpm = 65,000 / prop diameter in inches

Therefore a 10 x 6 prop has a max rating of 6,500 rpm.

If you are using 10 or 11 inch slow fly props, you are well outside the max rating suggested by these calcs with a 1250 kv motor which is going to try to turn the prop at about 12,500 rpm.

Cheers
