dynatron starter with makita power supply
I have an extra sullian dynatron starter that I would like to put the makita 18v power pack on. Does anyone know what I need to buy to make this work. I have a dynatron with a 6cell lipo and it works great, just heavy to lug around all day.

RE: dynatron starter with makita power supply
High Gene, am not familiar with the makita batteries but eighteen volts is certainly no problem for the Dynatrons. Should only need some blade connectors for a direct hook up.
For my mondo's I use two Dynatrons one is permanent with a gear drive and will start anything using 3 inch spinner cup. The other Dynatron uses a stock 1.5 inch cup and has a home machined slip over 2.25 inch cup.
Both are used interchangably with 18 volt Harbour Frieght Nicd about 1200 mahs, 18 volt Black and Decker Nicd about 1700 mah and finally my supper duper battery the Black and Decker 24 volt agine about 1700 mah's
I use all of the above in various combinations depending the the particular needs of the individual airplanes and engines. Yup there is quite a varience in the indviduals airplanes needs. I,ve tried hard but not yet discovered a truly one size fits all starter/power supply system

I have this setup and I love it. It spins large engines over very well and smaller engines start instantaneously. All I take to the flightline is my glow starter, and this starter setup. I too have the Dynatron and the conversion is easy.
Good Luck,
Andy
