OK first things first, Does you Stearman look anything lilke this? I know it is not the pictured one as that is my 71 inch top wing Great Planes but at least lets establish it looks similar but smaller than this one. Buy the way a Zenoa G-38 if that is what you have is absurdly large for a 60 inch Stearman. From your listed wingspan it may be an old Stirling Stearman.
Anyhow finding that magic 25% magic figure is easy for a straight chord biplane that I can describe my very simple method thats never let me down if your interested otherwise I will save my typing fingers ?

If the wings are straight, not swept, then measure the cord from the leading edge of the forward wing to the trailing edge of the other wing as if it was a single wing, use 25% of the cord.
