Sig Jenny build
So after trying to figure out what I need I decided to just ask!
heres what I don't understand yet as a newb to electrics...I have a sig jenny and need to find a battery and esc to go in it...
The manual says to use a 6 cell 720AAA mAh Nimh square pack, and a 5amp esc...
- is it safe to use an esc with a higher amp?
- is a 7.2v 800mAh ok to use with the stock 180 motor
-I have a spektrum ar600 receiver laying here as well...is that too heavy you think?
Any guidance would be helpful!

My Feedback: (1)
one important thing to remember IF you're using the stock motor... that is a brushed (NOT brushLESS) motor... you'll need to find an ESC designed for brushed motors.
yes, it's fine to use an ESC with a higher amp rating, but not one with a lower amp rating.
your ar600 should be just fine, it should not be too heavy.
and yes, the 7.2 volt lipo should also work fine, but again remember to get a brushed ESC designed for Lipo batteries.
good luck!

Ok great! That's what I was hoping to hear!...so just watch the ESC as I need it to be brushed.
Thank you for the info and response, I didn't want to risk burning something out my first flight!
