Default Doing a weekend aerospace engie project, preferrably a single-spool turbojet, help?

Hi, I've done previous projects before, but nothing of this magnitude. I was looking at a Russian afterburner of attached to a P160SX (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pS6LCDmvM5U), and that got me hooked. Is it possible to replicate something like this from scratch? I can do fabrication with practically any tool, just need a rough spec to start calculations off of. Thanks!

I've never heard of DIY plans for a turbine. There aren't many guys who can precision machine the parts and balance them well enough to turn 160,000 rpm without inducing any vibration. Then there is making a usable ECU for the start sequence and fuel metering, and so on.

Maybe building a pulse jet would satisfy this itch for a weekend project? They are fairly simple, but still nice and loud.

On a weekend you could make and run a valveless pulse jet like this.

Running turbine using a old turbocharger

http://youtu.be/xNs27JCrU8Y Even with access to CNC 5 axis milling and prepared cutting programs you a looking at weeks if not months to build a regular gas turbine. Attainable goals are best.

That's the first time I've seen a model gas turbine with a proper afterburner. Colour me impressed . It's proper because it's got a variable area outlet but I was also impressed by the simple way they controlled it. Just a sliding ring to let gas pressure open it up then the ring forcing it closed as it came out of AB. Variable area is essential because that controls the back pressure in the tailpipe which has an effect back on the compressor.
