Nice video! Those left turns looked fine to me. I could see you were using the rudder; not sure you'd gain that much from more differential. If the right turns aren't working for you maybe you just need more rudder throw.
Congratulations on your flight and your French!

I'm in the working to get ready for retirement stage. I'll have the house paid off in December so I can start wiping out misc CC debt. I am working with a handyman on weekends to complete the last big home improvement project, a remodel the bathroom. He cried uncle to quit first on Sunday. That was an ego booster, I have 20+ years on him. Just had the carpet replaced, I'm planning on retiring at 67 but I'll probably pull a Robert and work part time as long as I'm able. In retirement I hope to build a lot more between honeydos.

I guess I'm a youngun at 56. started out around 1970 with a cox PT19 Trainer that would hardly climb at all. Built and flew a pile of profile and hollow log planes, some from scratch with built up wings and silkspan. I remember the joy of using aero gloss dope in a small bedroom. My son in law has shown an interest in C/L flight. He just bought a Sig Skyray kit. I'll give him one of my old .049s so he can learn to smash a plane. I'm finally going to finish my Sterling P51 profile with an old Enya .35 that we can fly once he learns. I hope things haven't changed too much for my brain to accept. Just joined the site, good to be here.

Like I said I started RC with a club in Indianapolis, IN, not far from 5skyhawk172 in Ft Wayne, IN. I now live in Maricopa, AZ just a good rock throw from HoundDog in Apache Junction, AZ and then there is JohnBackner from Kingman, AZ. I really need to find enough RC Flyers in or near Maricopa, AZ to start an AMA Club. There has to be more guys then this, so fess up and come join me.

Hard to believe, but I do qualify for the 50 plus club, boy time flies (no pun intended) and the hobby has really changed. I stayed away for about 20 years and am getting back into it now. Just finished an old Ace Air Scout Trainer kit that I bought better than 20 years ago and have been dragging around all that time. (pic below) I miss the smell of Ambroid glue and was really perplexed when I built this one as what to use, had to call my son for advice. The hobby has really evolved in many ways for the good and in some, in my opinion, not so great. I personally like to build, RTFs don't allow for any creativity. kits now are hard to come by on a retail basis and the selection is really nothing like it was, but there are enough on ebay, etc to keep me going for the rest of my life. I used to cover my planes with tissue or fabric, monokote took some getting used to and I did not get that great dope smell! (used to drive my Mom nuts). My first plane that actually flew was a C/L Messerschmidt ME-109 powered by a roaring .049. I miss those days, but was able to pass on a lot to my son who still kit builds and flies gas powered planes. He is teaching his kids so maybe the old school way of doing things will last a bit longer.

Hopefully I'm not speaking presumptuously for Bobsdaddy. Ace R/C Air Scout has 54 inch wingspan and uses a .15 to .25 glow engine. Plan is described here:

Bobsdaddy, again I hope I'm not speaking presumptuously. if you are interested in reliving those CL days with a half-A ME-109, Outerzone has these plans: Walt Musiciano's Scientific hollow log:
http://www.outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=3574
(will need to scale up the quarter view) and
http://www.outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=4435
which resembles the Sterling Beginner's or Midwest profile Messerschmitt. For this Cox International has an engine mount that will work with either Cox .049 tank or tankless horseshoe back engines:
http://coxengines.ca/cox-.049-engine...trol-line.html
However, I've moved up to the legacy.35 sized (today's .25 Schneurle) CL planes of nominal 40 to 50 inch wingspan, which is even more fun as they handle the wind better and maintain slower lap speeds of 5 seconds.

Well dirtybird from San Tan and all you guys and dolls from AZ I am 82 lol still going strong. Still want to start a club in Maricopa, AZ at my age crazy man. Keeps me busy after I do all the Honey Do's lol. I will be married 63 years this July 27th. I miss flying my Glassair gave up flying in 2005. RC is my love now. I love to build as well as fly. I really like scale medium size, about 50" wing span. My favorite is P 51's, I had 4 at one time along with a P 47, FW 190, and a Spitfire. These planes I built after 2005, the P 47 had a twin Sato engine. The field I fly at in Casa Grande is rough and is hard on retracks. So since I don't have any scale planes cause their numbers all came up and went to the high in the sky I bought a couple 3D foamies, a foam T 28 and a Super Cub with ailerons. I just sent my Yak 54 to the high in the sky last week got another on order. Hit so hard it tore componets off the ESC and RX. Let it get to far out. Ron

Heres the AMA clubs within 25 miles of Maricopa AZ.
p.s. as for residing in AZ that's just for the 6 months of winter I leave for Wisconsin on the 15th of April ... Much cooler there.
Good luck with a new field ... remember the AMA has Grants for Field Improvements and New Fields.

If it were up to my wife she'd said I was 108 years old, Ya see before we were married in July '75 all we did was party party party ... She Loved to party. Anyways right after the Honey moon I stopped drinking and Of course partying. Some where around 1980 she started calling me an old man probably about 108 the way I acted. Found C/L in '86 again and R/C in '88. Then she would reference me and our son David as her two little12 year olds. But Really U are only as old as U feel. So When I'm at the Field (every day that ends in a "Y" except rain"Y" and wind"Y" )I'm that 12 year old all over again. After Lunch, back home I'm definitely older than my 72 years on this earth. Don't want to miss my NAPS.
So U guys get all them Honey Do's done and enjoy your Easter and your Wifes/Mother/Mother-in-laws good cook'n. I'm going to the field then to Friends in Mesa for a Pork Chop Dinner. They have to empty the Fridg/Freezer before the 15th when they Head for WI too.
Ya all's hav's a goods Easter an's don'ts ya's all be's Eat'n No Rabbits. Ya know's them Easter Bunnys less they's Chok-o-Let.
