Hitec, Futaba, JR, or Airtronics, Who makes the best computer radio?
I am new to the hobby and I was wanting to know what is the best computer radio on the market. I want one from 6- 9 channels. And I want to buy a radio and spend the money I need to now instead of getting some crap and having to spend more on a real radio later. So what Is your suggestions and Why?

You asked for up to 9 channels, well that rules out all the makes you mentioned except for the JR10. Despite Futaba using the number 9 as a name for two of their radios, they are 8 channels, Futaba does not make a true 9 channel radio.
Once you go above 6 channels, Multiplex and Graupner thrash Futaba/JR, with their true 9 channel and 12 channel radios, and vastly more flexible user-defineable programming.

Take a look at the Airtronics Stylus 8 channel. This is Airtronics top of the line radio. You will have a very hard time outgrowing this radio. It comes with a pretty good set of programs from the factory and is upgradeable to competition level via interchangeable upgrade cards. It only has 4 model memory as it comes new but also has a card that upgrades it to 50 model memory. All in all a great 8 channel system that will not cost you an arm and a leg at around 550 dollars for radio, servos, battery, reciever, and switch. Try and buy a Futaba 9Z or JR 10X for this price.

I like your idea of buying a radio you won't outgrow soon, if you'll
stick with the hobby.
My first choice would be the JR 8103 for the 10 model memory.
Second, would be the Hitec Eclipes with 7 memory and $200.00
less in price. I fly with the Eclipse and have no complaints. Being
the cheapest of the mfg's. you listed, I don't think you would need to spend more for that much more quality. With 4 servos, the best price is about $275.00 from Chief hobbies.

I was a JR flyer (began on a Quattro moved to a XF631), but bought a Futaba 9C for my next transmitter. IMHO capability-wise, it's about equal to the JR 8103, but looks significantly cooler with the big LCD . Actually I bought the radio because people were raving about the programming ease when it first came out. It has not disappointed me yet. Plus I was able to get the TX alone (I already had 5 flight packs and didn't need another at the time) from ServoCity for a fair price.
